With the addition of a new laptop which I use for development work and various other things like schoolwork or journaling, I needed an easy way to sync my Obsidian vault between devices.

I use Obsidian to store my school notes and saved configs or commands for my homelab and other linux stuff which includes credentials so whatever service I use needs to be end-to-end encrypted (e2ee).

While I tried free solutions like Obsidian Git, it doesn’t include native e2e encryption and isn’t as seemless as the built in Sync solution requiring me to commit and sync changes everytime which could cause conflicts if I have changes to commit on both my PC and Laptop.

So this lead me to their built in syncing solution, it supports the developers financially, it’s blazing fast, supports e2e encryption, includes version history and even let me get a 40% student discount by linking my student email.

Overall I highly recommend paying for this service if you use Obsidian as your primary notetaking app, the value is great and it helps support future development of the app.
